Sins Imagery

          Below are a few notes regarding some of the research that I've done on the sins, as well as some imagery/adjectives for my perception of each of the sins. At the bottom is a list of adjectives to describe the overall feel for the series.


Greed- An excessive desire to possess wealth or goods with the intentions to keep it for ones self.

• Becoming obscenely wealthy
• Thievery
• Selfishness
• Mr. Burns from The Simpsons/Scrooge
• Person consumed with overly expensive products

Pride- A high or inordinate opinion of ones own self worth.

           Shallowness, Arrogance, Narcissism, Egotistical

• Patronizing someone not as fortunate
• Gloating over ones accomplishments
• Vanity
• High profile snobbish wealthy person

Envy- A person who desires what another person possesses.

• Stalking
• Obsessing over and trying to imitate
• Movies: Obsessed, Single White Female, Roommate

Gluttony- Over indulgence.

• Excessive eating
• Addiction (Drugs or other substances)
• Overdosing
• Alcoholism
• Ex Images of a Glutton 1, Glutton 2

Lust- The sometimes violent, self indulgent action of fantasizing about sexual or romantic encounters.

• Stalking a person

• Paying for sexual favors
• Prostitution
• Rape/sexual assault
• Pedophilia
• Sadomasochism
• Pornography

Wrath- The angry violent reaction/acting out.

              Spite, War, Hate, Intolerance

• Adultery
• Physical/Mental/Sexual abuse
• Murder
• An angry drunk
• Sadomasochists
• Sadism- The pleasure in the infliction of pain upon another person
• Masochism- Pleasure in receiving pain
• BDSM- (Usually consentual) B/bondage and discipline D/dominance and submission S/sadism M/masochism

Sloth- The wasting away of due to lack of use.

• Laziness
• Child neglect
• Feral Child- A human child who has lived isolated from human contact from a very young age and has little or no experience of human care, love, social behavior or, most importantly, human language.

• Parents starve to death child while playing video games
